We are in the process of establishing an (ECPRF), which will be a New York not-for-profit Corporation organized under 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Revenue Code and has been determined to be tax exempt by the IRS.
The objective of this foundation is to have all ECP providers who have an interest in conducting research, expanding FDA indications, and increasing reimbursement for External Counterpulsation, to support this fund. In turn, any provider or facility with interest in a clinical study can submit their research proposal to the ECPRF for review. At which time the proposal research committee would determine support funding is warranted.
VascuFlo has been providing ECP in Western New York for over 7 years have found ECP to benefit many other disease states. We firmly believe further research is necessary to confirm and substantiate our findings, ultimately adding FDA indications, increase awareness, and reimbursements.
We trust in the belief that this Foundation will provide the funds necessary to initiate pilot studies. With good outcomes the ECRF can then pursue the disease state foundations to extend and publish this research.
The foundation will consist of a committee who will review the submitted proposals and assess their viability. Furthermore the committee will decide if funding is warranted for the submitted proposal. We are also currently searching for interested professionals to become members of our committee who have a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding ECP. The commitment would consist of monthly teleconferences discussing the foundation and proposals at hand.
In conclusion, the ECPRF will be dedicated to the advancement and expanding the use of External Counterpulsation therapy. If we all work together in this mission, our goals will be obtainable.
